India threatens entire South Asia by testing Islamabad’s resolve: Pak military spokesman

Pakistan military spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has warned India could push the entire South Asia as well as global stability to the edge if it continues to test Islamabad’s security posture and limits.

“We will never bow down to Indian hegemony. The sooner they understand this, the better it will be for regional peace and the world," he said during an interview with Turkey’s Anadolu Agency (AA).

"If you [Indian government] don't read the truth and live in your own reality, then there is a problem. The truth is that India is not the US and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel and Pakistan is not Palestine. The truth is that Pakistan will never be deterred. It can never be forced,” Chaudhry said.

Chaudhry said that India's overconfidence and arrogant attitude is fuelling concerns over a devastating nuclear war in South Asia, endangering the region’s 1.6 billion people.

In his statement to AA, Chaudhry made evaluations regarding the recent tensions with India.

Chaudhry said that India had failed to provide any evidence to support its allegations of blaming Pakistan for the attack in the Pahalgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the New Delhi government was "using the incidents as an excuse for terrorism" and should abandon this.

Chaudhry argued that terrorism, extremism and hatred were India's internal problems and that the New Delhi government was cracking down on groups including Muslims and Sikhs in the country, which was fuelling more anger, extremism and terrorism.

Chaudhry also said, "Pakistan has nothing to do with the Pahalgam attack. Whatever is happening in Kashmir or anywhere else in India is an internal matter arising out of oppression."

Chaudhry stated that Kashmir is an international dispute and should be resolved under the will of the people of the region as per the United Nations resolution.

Recalling that India had attacked different parts of Pakistan with missiles and drones, Chaudhry said, "They were trying to prevent us from taking just revenge for the killing of innocent children and women, but they forgot that we are not a nation or a state that can be deterred or prevented. We never bow down to aggression and tyranny, and we will never bow down."

Chaudhry said that the whole world knows that Pakistan shot down Indian planes but New Delhi is unwilling to accept it, adding, "The world knows that their planes were shot down but they (India) are not accepting it. We can give the names (of the pilots in the downed planes), we know exactly where they are right now. We also know in which (hospital) bed he is lying."

Chaudhry rather blamed India for terror attacks in Pakistan, saying, "All this terrorism (in Pakistan) is supported and encouraged by India."

Recalling the attack on a train in Balochistan province on 11 March, in which more than 20 passengers were killed, Chaudhry said that the "Balochistan Liberation Army" (BKO), which claimed responsibility for the attack, openly asked for military assistance from India and that some leaders, politicians and retired generals in New Delhi made statements to support this organization in Pakistan.

Chaudhry said that there was a lot of evidence linking India to the terrorist incidents in Pakistan and reminded that they sent this evidence to the International Court of Justice.

Chaudhry claimed that "Indian intelligence is training and providing financial support to terrorist organisations to carry out attacks in Pakistan" and added that "India is a state sponsor of terrorism in this region".
