Zaima Rahman; daughter of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, paid tribute at the grave of her grandmother, former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Zaima Rahman arrived Zia Udyan around 10:30am with nearly 20 relatives including Khaleda Zia’s younger son late Arafat Rahman KoKo’s wife Syeda Sharmila Rahman.

They participated in a prolonged prayer session and paid their deep respects at Khaleda Zia's grave located in Zia Udyan. Later, The family left the site at 10:40am.

Family sources said the visit was made to honor the memory of the late BNP leader, whose death has drawn nationwide mourning and tributes from supporters across the country.

Khaleda Zia was buried with full state honours on December 31 next to her husband, the late President Ziaur Rahman, in a ceremony attended by her son Tarique Rahman and other family members. The armed forces provided a ceremonial guard of honour.

Her historic funeral prayer had earlier been held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament and along Manik Mia Avenue, drawing wide public attention.
