Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said today (Wednesday) that Bangladesh will be a poverty-free country by the proper education.
She was addressing a function for distribution of Prime Minister Gold Medal-2017 award among 163 students of different public and private universities of the country.
The ceremony under the auspices of University Grants Commission (UGC) was held at the Shapla Hall of Prime Minister’s Office in the capital on Wednesday.
“Bangladesh is Independent country. But, we need educated people to bring country go ahead,” the premier said.
“We have achieved 73% education. We have target to achieve 100% education. We have to free the country from illiteracy,” she said.
“We have built variety of varsities to develop education. We have built university almost in all districts. We will build medical university in every division,” the Prime Minister said.
