Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the recent U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran's educational and academic centers on Monday (March 30).
In a post on X, he described targeting scientists and universities as a reflection of the "desperation" of the aggressors, asserting that knowledge cannot be silenced by bombs.
Araghchi accused the U.S.-Israel coalition of a systematic plan to destroy Iran's intellectual infrastructure, drawing parallels to previous assassinations of nuclear scientists. Since the escalation began on February 28 following the killing of top Iranian leaders, significant damage has been inflicted on civilian facilities like schools and hospitals.
In response, Tehran has launched retaliatory drone and missile strikes on regional U.S. bases, warning that attackers will pay a heavy price for targeting non-military sites.
