The government has assigned the army to construct a quarantine centre at Tongi Ijtema grounds for the returnee expatriates and carrier of coronavirus.
"The government will bring all the expatriate Bangladeshis, who returned in the country in last 15 days, into compulsory quarantine," Health Minister Zahid Malik made the remark during a press briefing today.
The health minister said, "We have collected list of the returnees from the airport authorities. All returnees will be brought under quarantine."
"The number of coronavirus patients is high in Madaripur and Faridpur region. We might lock down the region if the situation worsen there. Same measures will be taken for other districts if coronavirus aggravate," the minister added.
The health minister also said the government will ensure protective gears for doctors and nurses treating coronavirus patients.
