Department of Immigration & Passports has announced to stop taking biometric for passport making process to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The authorities confirmed the matter on early Monday.

Bangladesh on January 22, this year, entered the e-Passport era as the first country in South Asia. Due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, all new passport activities in the country have been closed temporary.

Bangladesh has confirmed 27 coronavirus cases where two died.
