Local administration announced to lock down Rangpur district from 10 pm tonight to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

"No one will be allowed to enter, or to exit from the district during the lockdown," said Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan said after a meeting with the city mayor and other high officials.

He said, "The number of Covid-19 infected patients is increasing in other districts of Rangpur division. So, we decided to lock down Rangpur."

Only the emergency services will be out of the lockdown purview.
