A 60-year-old prisoner of the Dhaka Central Jail has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Confirming the matter to media, Sheikh Kamal, Prison Guard of the jail said, "He had been undergoing treatment at ward no. 901 in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital since March 30. He has kidney problems."

"Before getting him released from the hospital, the prison authorities decided to test his samples and eventually his test result came out positive for Covid-19," he added.

Decision has been made to transfer the patient to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, Sheikh Kamal further informs.
