Trade between Bangladesh and India has resumed at Chuadanga's Darshana railway station after a gap of a month and a half amid the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country.
The first train carrying onions entered the station on Saturday afternoon.
"Khalid Hasan Traders, an importer from Satkhira is importing the onions from India's Maharashtra," local C&F agent Rafiqul Islam said.
"RK Enterprise from India loaded the train with onions at West Bengal's Malda district," he added.
A total of 45.2 tonnes of onions have been imported in this first shipment. They will be unloaded at the Darshana railway station and will be sent to different districts of the country on trucks.
