A mobile court in Chattogram Saturday seized fake healthcare equipment worth Tk4 lakh, and fined five companies Tk82,000 for stockpiling and selling these items. 

The mobile court conducted a drive at Hazari Lane and Andarkilla against counterfeit Covid-19 health equipment.

Hossain Md Imran, assistant director of the Department of Drug Administration, said fake hand sanitisers, personal protective equipment suits and masks were seized and the companies were fined for selling counterfeit protective materials and stockpiling unregistered foreign drugs.

"Chattogram district administration carried out the operation with the help of Bangladesh Army and police," he added.
