Bangladesh Bank has instructed all banks to maintain regular transaction hours from Sunday, after providing services in limited scale for 63 days due to the coronavirus outbreak.

From Sunday, transactions at all branches of banks will be made from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm each working day by keeping open their branches from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, according to a notification, issued by the central on Thursday.

Daily transaction period, however, has been fixed from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm every working day in the corona-risk-prone areas, declared by authorities concerned, it added.

In the case of Covid-19 contaminated areas, branches concerned are allowed to keep open up to 4:00 pm if necessary.

A BB senior official said, social distancing along with other health safety and security measures, issued by the authorities concerned to curb spread of Coronavirus, will be ensured in all the branches as well as headquarters of the scheduled banks.

The banks have been provided services in limited scale since March 29, as the government announced general holiday as part of its efforts to contain the spread of deadly virus outbreak.
