Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested two persons from Jatrabari area of the capital along with 4,000 pieces of sedative yaba.

The arrestees are Mohammad Khalilur Rahman alias Nasir (25) and Mohammad Hasim Mollah (26).

Ahsanuzzaman, Assistant Commissioner of Police, DMP's Detective South Division of the Car Theft / Rescue Prevention and Rescue Team, who led the operation, said the two were arrested on Sunday along with 4,000 pieces of yaba while conducting a raid on the highway in front of Messrs. Shapla Timber & Sawmills at Donia in the city’s Jatrabari area.

A covert van used to transport yaba was also seized from their custody, he said.

He said a case has been filed against those arrestees with the DMP's Jatrabari police station.
