The Financial Express news editor Abdullah M Hasan died of COVID-19 at a hospital in Dhaka on Friday.

He was 72.

Confirming the matter, the daily’s chief reporter SM Jahangir told media that the senior journalist died at around 6:40 pm at Labaid Specialised Hospital.

Abdullah had been undergoing treatment for a week after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Abdullah M Hasan left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

The Finance Today Editor Motiur Rahman and Chief Editor Bappi Sardar expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of eminent news editor Abdullah M Hasan.

He prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
