The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested a manager of Bogura branch of Jamuna Bank, on charge of embezzling Tk 12.16 crore on Wednesday morning.

The arrestee is identified as Sawgat Arman.

Aminul Islam, assistant director of ACC-affiliated in Bogura district, lodged the case against Sawgat on Wednesday.

Aminul said that Sawgat Arman has been taken into ACC custody and he will be produced in court after interrogation.

Sawgat Arman transferred Tk 12.16 crore to another accounts resorting fraudulence at various times while working as a manager at the Bank in Bogura branch. Later, he transferred the money to his own account and embezzled it, he said.
