A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has fined four pharmacies Tk 4.5 lakh on different charges, including selling of unapproved and illegally imported foreign medicine, in Hemayetpur area of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

Executive magistrate Anisur Rahman conducted the operation in the area on Wednesday afternoon. 

The mobile court fined Joynal, owner of Al Madina Pharmacy, Tk 1.5 lakh, Mohiuddin Sheikh Aslam, owner of Star Pharmacy, Tk 2 lakh, SM Kamrujjaman, owner of Sohel Medicine Corner and Md Abu Sayed, manager of Ayesha Medical Hall ,Tk 50,000 each, said Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury, Assistant Director (operations) of RAB-4.

The law enforces also seized various types of contraband drugs from the pharmacies, he said.
