Bangladesh confirmed 23 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 5,803, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the deceased, 19 were men and four were women. Moreover, 19 of them hailed from Dhaka, one each from Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur divisions.
All the deceased died in different hospitals across the in the country.
In the last 24 hours, 1,308 people tested positive for Covid-19 and the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 3,98,815.
Health authorities reported another 1,544 people recovered from the disease in a day, rising the total number of recoveries to 315,107.
In the last 24 hours, 106 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 11,103 samples.
Of the total sample tests, 11.78 percent tested positive in the past 24 hours, while 17.67 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.
Among the total infections, 79.01 percent patients have recovered, while 1.46 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
The country's first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
