A two-day ministerial conference of the Non- Aligned Movement (NAM) began at Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on Thursday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, who reached Baku on Wednesday, is attending the mid-term ministerial conference of NAM.
He is leading a four-member Bangladesh delegation at the meeting, an official at the Foreign Ministry informed.
Azerbaijan is hosting the conference under the theme of the ‘Promoting international peace and security for sustainable development’.
A meeting of senior officials was held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The conference will be a key opportunity for NAM member states, observer states, organizations and guests countries to get together and address the changing international security environment and to exchange views on how to respond effectively to challenges standing in front of them, said the organisers.
