Bangladesh Bank (BB) has enhanced the usance period up to 180 days from 90 days for the import of Ophthalmic Medical Equipment, including intraocular lens.

“To facilitate the imports of Ophthalmic Medical Equipment, including Intraocular Lens, it has been decided that the deferred or usance period under supplier’s or buyer’s credit is extended up to 180 days from existing 90 days,” said a BB circular issuedon Thursday.

Other relevant instructions in this context shall remain unchanged.
