The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has extended the time limit to apply for admission into secondary schools of the country until 7 January.

Subsequently, those who could not apply due to age-related complications will now be able to submit their application online. The lottery will be held on 11 January.

The directive signed by Dr Syed Md Golam Faruk, director general of DSHE was issued in this regard on Thursday.

He also said the decision was taken following a writ petition with the High Court.

According to the previous directives, the admission seeking students were allowed to apply until 27 December and the lottery was supposed to be held on 30 January.
