Democrat candidate Rafael Warnock wins Senate runoff election in Georgia. He defeated Republican candidate Kelly Loffler in a close contest.
Democrat Warnock received 50.4 percent of the vote, while his nearest rival, Loffler received 49.6 percent.
Joe Biden's Democrats must win both seats to gain full control of Congress. If Republicans win the election for any reason, then Democrat President Joe Biden will have to face problems in making decisions.
On the other hand, the Republican party of outgoing President Donald Trump has to win one seat. None of the four candidates received the required 50 percent of the vote to win the November election.
So far, 98 percent of the votes in Georgia's 159 counties have been counted.
