BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has tested positive for novel coronavirus.

A laboratory report of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter on Sunday.

Khaleda Zia's sample for COVID testing was collected on Saturday and on Saturday the result came positive.

When asked about the matter, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's press wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan could not confirm the matter immediately.

Khaleda Zia, 76, has been suffering from arthritis pain, diabetes, eye problems and other old-age problems.
