Italy is interested to invest in the leather industry of Bangladesh, said Enrico Nunziata, Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh on Sunday.
The Ambassador came up with the remarks while meeting with Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Chairman Md Mushtaq Hasan at BSCIC Bhaban in the afternoon.
Bangladesh and Italy will jointly work to enhance relations between the two countries, Nunziata said.
Italy is also looking forward to increase investment in Bangladesh and work together in handing over the green technology, he stated.
Besides, BSCIC Chairman said Bangladesh and Italy will jointly work for solid waste management of leather industry.
Italy has also sought uninterrupted waste supply after establishment of a waste management plant, he said.
Requesting Italy to invest in the industrial areas of BSCIC, Mushtak Hasan said BSCIC has fetched master plan to turn Bangladesh into an industrially developed country by 2041.
A total of 100 environment friendly industrial parks in 40,000 acres of land will be established if the master plan is implemented in the future, Hasan added.
