The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stepped into investigation against board of directors of the Grameen Telecom for their involvement in alleged corruptions.
Md Mahbub Hossain, Secretary of the ACC, confirmed the development to the reporters on Thursday.
The anti-graft watchdog was prompted by a report against Grameen Telecom submitted by Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The allegations furnished in the report are following:
1. Grameen Telecom board misappropriates 5 percent profit of workers
2. Deduct 6 percent from the money paid to the workers in termination benefits
3. Misappropriates workers’ welfare fund and its interest to the tune of Tk 45,52,13,643
4. Transfers Tk 977 crore from Grameen Telecom to associate organisations and misappropriates it
