The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against a sub-divisional engineer of the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 93.70 lakh.
The anti-graft body’s Deputy Director Hafizul Islam filed the case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1 under the sections 26 (2) and 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act-2004, said ACC spokesperson M Arif Sadiq.
According to the case, the BWDB’s Management and Maintenance Wing Sub-Divisional Engineer (in-charge) Khandaker Muinur Rahman amassed wealth worth Tk 93.70 lakh beyond his known sources of income.
The engineer also concealed information of his immovable assets worth Tk 15.88 lakh in his wealth statement submitted to the commission.
