Pankaj Debnath, Awami League lawmaker from Barishal-4 (Hijla-Mehendiganj) Constituency, has been dismissed from all posts of the party for violating its constitution.

The decision was informed in a letter signed by the party's central office secretary Biplob Barua.

General Secretary of Barishal District Awami League Talukdar Md Yunus confirmed the matter on Monday (September 12) afternoon.

“We have already received the copy of the letter given by the Central Awami League. Actions are being taken accordingly,” he said.

He also said MP Pankaj Debnath was a member of Barishal District Awami League Advisory Council.
