Customs officials recovered 30 gold bars, weighing around 3.48 kilograms, from a dustbin at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Thursday morning.

On secret information, a team of the customs intelligence conducted a search in different spots of the airport and recovered the gold from the dustbin near Bay No. 12 of the airport at around 9:30am in an abandoned condition.

The gold bars were wrapped with scotch tape, sources at the airport said.

The estimated value of the gold is around Tk 3.5 crore.

Proper action has been taken under custom law in this regard.
