Bangladesh and UEA on Wednesday (Nov 16) held their consular consultations which covered the area of easing visa renewal process, regularisation of over-stayers, cooperation in the area of combating human trafficking and money laundering.
Bangladesh delegation led by the Secretary (East) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Ambassador Mashfee Binte Shams, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment, and officials of Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi, as members, joined the first Consular Consultations between Bangladesh and the UAE held in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
UAE delegation was led by Faisal Essa Lutfi, Assistant Undersecretary, Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
They discussed various consular issues related to Bangladesh nationals living and working in the UAE as well as their welfare issues.
It also covered the area of easing visa renewal process, regularization of over-stayers, cooperation in the area of combating human trafficking, money laundering etc.
It was decided that an MOU to form the legal framework for a Joint Consular Committee would be concluded soon for holding such meetings on a regular basis in a larger scale with wider participation and broader agenda.
