People of the district are experiencing severe cold as this year’s lowest temperature in the country 9.5 degrees Celsius was recorded here on Friday morning.
Rakibul Hasan, in-charge of the Chuadanga meteorological office, said the lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius around 9 am.
He predicted that mercury may fall further in the district tomorrow.
The chilly weather is disrupting daily life, forcing people to stay indoors and causing woes to low-income people.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins, and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from late night to morning.
