Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association (BSRA) has again hiked loose and packaged sugar price.  

According to new prices, per kg loose sugar has increased by Tk 5 while one kg packaged sugar hiked by Tk 4.

The latest prices will come into effect from February 1.

The notification signed by BSRA executive secretary made this disclosure at a press statement on Thursday.

The notice stated that the sugar prices- per kg loose at Tk 107 and packaged sugar at Tk112- were fixed after discussing with the Ministry of Commerce and considering the price hike of unrefined sugar at international market and higher exchange rate of dollar and its production cost.

Earlier on November 17, last year, the price of per kg loose sugar was set at Tk 102 and packaged sugar was determined at Tk 108.
