An earthquake measuring 5.3-magnitude rattled parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka around 6:45pm.
Apart from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan and China are also affected by the quake, according to National Center for Seismology in India.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located around 24km south of Goalpara of India’s Assam, at a depth of 10km, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
No immediate reports of damage are known.
People took to social media to report the jolt all across the country.
