A total of 10,000 Ansar and VDP members will be deployed to help police maintain law and order situations across the country during the two-day countrywide blockade and hartal enforced by the opposition party BNP on Wednesday.

The members will be deployed at railway stations, bus stations, launch terminals, important government and non-government establishments and some other important places.

The Home Ministry directed the director general of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP to deploy the members on Tuesday, confirmed Zahidul Islam, deputy director of the Ansar and VDP.

The district magistrates have been directed to coordinate the overall deployment matter.
