All affiliated colleges under the National University (NU) will remain shut until further notice is issued due to the nationwide heat wave.

A notice to this effect was signed by Md Ataur Rahman, the Director of the Public Relations Department of the NU, on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Education issued an order to keep all schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical education institutions across the country closed from 21 to 27 April.

It may be mentioned that a severe heatwave is sweeping over the Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, and Tangail.

A mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping over the Barishal division, the rest of Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, and the districts of Chandpur and Moulvibazar, and it may continue.
