Two people were killed and another injured as a cylinder of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw exploded after the vehicle crashed into a tree on Sonapur-Char Alexander road in Companir Hat area of Sadar upazila on Sunday morning, UNB reports.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sudhram Model Police Station, said the incident took place when the Sonapur-bound auto-rickshaw hit the roadside tree after its driver lost control over the wheel around 6 am.

Later, the cylinder went off leaving one dead on the spot and two burn injured.One of the injured died on the way to hospital.
