Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will visit cyclonic storm Remal-hit areas in Patuakhali on Thursday.

Awami league General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader disclosed the information in a press conference at Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi political office in the capital on Tuesday.

Earlier, Sheikh Hasina asked the authorities concerned to speedily repair the damaged embankments in the coastal areas due to the recent tropical cyclone "Remal" that lashed the country.

The premier gave the directive while chairing the 10th meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) held today at the NEC Conference Room in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
