Detectives have arrested former cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor in Dhaka’s Bailey Road area.

He was apprehended at Nawratan colony in Bailey Road around 11pm on Sunday.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations and Media) Md Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrest.

The former minister is one of the accused in a case filed with Mirpur police station, sources at the DMP said.

Noor is a Bangladeshi actor, politician and activist.

He was a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Nilphamari-2 constituency during 2001–2024 and served as minister during 2014–2019.
