Bangladesh Bank has appointed Husne Ara Shikha, an executive director of the central bank, as its spokesperson.

The decision was taken on Thursday, according to an office order.

Husne Ara Shikha replaced Md Mezbaul Haque as the spokesperson.

Shikha completed her Master’s in Economics from the International University of Japan.

She joined Bangladesh Bank as assistant director in 1996. She started work in the Banking Regulations and Policy Department and has since held several important posts in the central bank, including in the Foreign Exchange Policy Department.

Besides, the central bank appointed Banking Regulation and Policy Department Director Mohammad Shahriar Siddiqui and Communications and Publications Department Director Saeda Khanam as its assistant spokespersons.
