Mercantile Bank PLC has appointed Mati Ul Hasan as its new managing director.

Prior to this appointment, Hasan served as the bank’s Additional Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer.

He began his banking career in 1984 as a probationary officer at IFIC Bank Limited.

Over the years, he held various positions at different branches and head office, including Branch in charge of the local office at Motijheel.

He was posted at Branches of overseas operations in Pakistan in different important positions and Nepal Bangladesh Bank (Joint venture of IFIC) as DMD.

In 2014, Mr Hasan joined Mercantile Bank as a DMD. He has participated in numerous seminars, workshops, and training programmes on banking and finance both domestically and internationally.

He completed Diploma in Banking from The Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh and Associates of the Institute of Bankers, Pakistan.
