Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on Saturday said the interim government is working to transfer power to the elected government as soon as possible.
“There is uncertainty over the political situation. A road map [for elections] will be unveiled soon,” he said while addressing a programme titled “Branding Bangladesh” in a city hotel.
For the last four months, the adviser said, the Indian media has been spreading anti-Bangladesh propaganda in the global arena.
“Their narratives suggest a war-like situation along the Bangladesh-India border and people of the Hindu community are being persecuted here.”
The foreign adviser said the cooperation of the local media is vital to stop the misinformation being spread by the Indian ones.
In another context, he said many complaints of expatriates not getting the necessary assistance in embassies abroad are true. Apart from this, the government will take maximum measures if expatriates are harassed at the airport, Touhid added.
