Remittance inflow reached a historic milestone in February, with $2.53 billion sent to the country, marking the fourth-highest amount ever recorded.
This remarkable figure highlights the resilience of remittance flows despite global economic challenges.
According to the Bangladesh Bank data, the country recorded its highest-ever monthly remittance inflow of $2.64 billion in December last year.
The second-highest inflow of $2.59 billion was recorded in July 2020 and the third-highest ($2.54 billion) was recorded in June 2024.
In the last month, Bangladesh's migrant workers sent home $2.53 billion in remittances, which marked a 25% year-on-year growth.
As per the central bank data, total remittance earnings reached $18.49 billion from July to February of the current fiscal year 2024-25, reflecting a 23.8% increase compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
During the July-February period of FY2023-24, the country received $14.94 billion in remittances.
