The government is set to bring in expert teams from four countries to investigate the recent fire at the cargo village area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury made the remarks while visiting the fire-damaged cargo village and e-gate area of the airport at around 11:45am on Saturday.
The adviser said the investigation will be carried out jointly with the foreign experts to determine whether any negligence or mismanagement contributed to the incident.
“Specialist teams from four countries will examine the site to find out whether there was any lack of proper management. If any evidence of negligence is found, stern action will be taken against those responsible,” he told reporters.
The government’s decision to involve international experts aims to ensure a transparent, scientific, and credible investigation into the high-profile incident that disrupted airport operations earlier this week.
