Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her meeting with newly appointed ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Bangladesh Saed Mohammed Saed Hmaid Almheiri urged the country to investment in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) of Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister welcomed the new envoy to Bangladesh and assured him of full support in discharging his duties during their meeting at her office.
Sheikh Hasina recalled the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s visit to the UAE in 1974 and his personal friendship with UAE’s Father of the Nation Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan saying the visit had laid the foundation of Bangladesh-UAE relations.
The envoy informed the Prime Minister that major business groups of the UAE are keen to invest in Bangladesh.
The new envoy said his country wants to continue cooperation with Bangladesh in various sectors, and he will work for promoting the relations between the two countries to it to new heights.
Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman and PM’s Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin were present.
