On Friday (April 3), DSCC Administrator and freedom fighter Abdus Salam sparked political debate by claiming that both Awami League and Jamaat-e-Islami were aligned with Pakistan's interests during the 1971 Liberation War—one seeking premiership and the other aiming to preserve the state.

Speaking at a discussion organized by the Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal at the National Press Club, Salam asserted that only the BNP, under the leadership of Ziaur Rahman, truly fought for Bangladesh's independence. He criticized the current opposition's behavior during the national anthem in Parliament, suggesting that their hearts remain tied to Pakistan.

Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni also attended the event, where speakers reaffirmed BNP's commitment to implementing the "July Charter" and upholding the country's sovereignty against all odds.
