Eight platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the Bogra-6 (Sadr) constituency to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful by-election. According to a BGB press release issued on Thursday, personnel from the Naogaon and Patnitala battalions will serve as mobile and static forces in the electoral area until April 11.
This by-election follows the decision of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman—who won both the Bogra-6 and Dhaka-17 seats in the 13th National Parliamentary Election held on February 12—to vacate the Bogra seat, subsequently leading to the vacancy.
