State Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel today said Bangladesh witnessed a revolutionary change in its education sector in the last 10 years.
“The Awami League (AL) government has taken various initiatives for
enhancing the standard of education. In the last 10 years, a revolutionary
change took place in the country’s education sector,” he told a view-exchange
meeting with journalists at his residence in the port city.
As the quality of the country’s education has improved and certificates
get international standard, Nowfel said, students can now take higher
education from abroad easily.
“We’ll try to maintain the quality of education,” he said.
The state minister said attention will be given to infrastructural
development of the existing educational institutions and increasing the
number of teachers in those institutions instead of setting up new
institutions.
He stressed introducing double shift class management system in the
educational institutions to address the pressure of additional students.
Replying a question, Nowfel said: “The present government has given
special importance on the education of women. The women education is
advancing fast here. Nobody can halt the progress”.
