The parliamentary standing committee on civil aviation and tourism today recommended to finish the construction work of the 3rd terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at the earliest possible time.
The recommendation was made at the third meeting of the Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation And Tourism at the Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban here, said a press release of the Parliament Secretariat
today.
Chairman of the committee RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury presided over the
meeting. Members of the committee Md Aslamul Haque, Kazi Firoze Rashid,
Tanvir Imam, Anwar Hossain Khan and Syeda Rubina Aktar were present at the
meeting.
Besides, recommendations were placed to present a report to the committee
regarding the existing cargo handling process of the airport and launching a
direct flight of Biman to England’s Manchester.
A recommendation was made to review the implementation and progress of
decisions taken at its previous meetings and present a report to the
committee.
Also, an elaborate discussion was made regarding the celebration of Mujib
Year.
Secretaries of the civil aviation and tourism ministry and other concerned
officials of the parliament secretariat were present at the meeting.
