Terming the dengue situation a humanitarian crisis, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said everyone should work together to tackle the crisis.
“Cleanliness drives will continue in every moholla [small residential area] and para [neigbourhood] of the country. The government will be successful in combating the dengue like other challenges,” he said while inaugurating a three-day cleanliness drive of Bangladesh Awami League at Jigatala in the city.
The drive was conducted for creating awareness among people.
Asked about the Health Minister’s Malaysia trip, Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said, “The main point is whether necessary steps have been taken for combating the dengue, no matter who’s there at home and who’s abroad.”
He also said the Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad will conduct free blood tests for diagnosing dengue, if needed.
