Export through Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria remained halted since Saturday morning as Agartala land port officials are unable to handle the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) installed recently by Indian Customs Authority.

Mobarak Hossain, president of Akhaura C&F Agents Association, said Agartala customs and port authority stopped the import of goods from Bangladesh as nobody at Agartala port in India could handle the EDI machine.

Over 30 trucks carrying goods worth Tk 40 million remained stuck at the port, UNB reported quoting Mobarak.
