The Inter-Department Football competition of Dhaka University begins on Monday (September 2) at the central playground of the University. 

Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the meet as chief guest.

Addressing the inaugural function, DU VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to take part extensively in sports, cultural and other extra-curriculum activities to be physically and mentally fit. 

Presided over by president of DU Football Committee Prof. Dr. Shah Md. Masum, the inaugural function was addressed, among others, by DU Physical Education Center Advisor Prof. Dr. M. Ziaul Haq Mamun and Sports Secretary of DUCSU Shakil Ahmed Tanvir. 

Provosts, House Tutors, DUCSU leaders, players, Director of DU Physical Education Center Md. Shahjahan Ali and other officials were also present.
