Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said science education should be attracted to create knowledge-based society aiming at transforming Bangladesh into an economically developed country.
“The country will no longer import knowledge and technology…. We want to gain capacity for exporting knowledge and technology,” he told a function at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET) here, an official release said.
In an effort to expand science education, Nahid said, the government has taken special initiatives to attract more students into science aiming to generate new knowledge. He said the number of students of science group is increasing every year as a result of effective initiatives of the present government.
“Our children are extremely brilliant…If they are given adequate facilities, they will do better at international level,” the minister added.
