Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) filed cases against 10 petrol pumps over three days till Tuesday for alleged weight and measurement manipulation of different types of fuel.
Different mobile courts and surveillance teams of BSTI launched drives and filed the cases in the capital’s Mirpur, Uttara, Gabtoli and Gazipur city on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
On Tuesday, a mobile court of the BSTI led by its executive magistrate Begum Rashida Akhter and a surveillance team of BSTI team led by assistant director Md Rezaul Karim carried out the drives in city’s Tejgaon, Amin Bazar and Gabtali areas and filed three cases against three petrol pumps.
On Sunday, three cases were filed against three petrol pumps in city’s Mirpur area.
On Monday, four cases were sued against four petrol pumps in city’s Uttara area and Gazipur area.
The petrol pumps were engaged in depriving the clients of petrol, diesel and octane.
